We travelled to Bulgaria by aeroplane from Krakow and then by bus to our hotel, Briz 2. We were shocked at the apartment blocks. They were terrible; reminiscent of Bishkek. Some looked ready to collapse.
The hotel was very pleasant with lovely ground, a pool and other features we did not explore. Our Pilot, Piotr, told us we needed
€170 for extras. We found a bank and had to withdraw Bulgarian Lev which they then converted to Euros for us. You might imagine that this was a challenge in a country where we have no language at all. Thankfully the teller had good English and was able to walk the international currency officer and us through the process.
Money in pocket we returned to the pool.
